Tips for cleaning
Regular cleaning reduces the need for strong cleaning agents. Favour baking soda, vinegar and mild cleaning agents; your surfaces and the environment will thank you. Also, favour days with subzero temperatures for cleaning.
Baking soda and vinegar brightens
Pots, stubborn teacups and sinks can be made bright by rubbing the surface with a cloth moistened with baking soda. You can easily make the windows bright in the kitchen and the whole home when you add a drop (1 tablespoon) of vinegar and a few drops of dishwashing detergent to the washing water.
Take advantage of the frosty days to clean your home
A frosty winter day is an excellent day to defrost the fridge and freezer. During defrosting and cleaning, take the food ingredients outside to the balcony, for example - make sure, however, that the contents of the refrigerator do not freeze on the balcony.
The cold winter weather brings power and freshness to the airing of bedding and carpets. Take them outside for the cleaning day and finally sweep, so the dust stays in the yard. It is also worth taking advantage of a fresh frosty day, e.g. for airing woolen clothes and children's soft toys.
You can give the carpets a snow wash: put the carpet with the pile side down on a clean cloth, pat lightly and brush or shake off the snow. When the carpet is allowed to cool before snow washing, the snow does not melt on the warm carpet and wet it. Before snow washing, make sure that the carpet can withstand snowy treatment.
