Buses on trunk route 560 drive north towards Mellunmäki and south to the metro station and other services of Vuosaari. The metro is a convenient way to travel to the Helsinki city centre or even further, all the way to Kivenlahti in Espoo.

Day-care centres, schools, shops and sports facilities are close by, making everyday life smooth and easy. The surrounding area has excellent opportunities for recreational activities, including an outdoor trail that stretches from Vartiokylänlahti and Broända brook meadows all the way to Mustavuori. The area also has plenty of valuable birdlife, and the herb-rich forest near Broända brook is full of valuable plant life to admire.

The neighbourhood consists mainly of small two-storey houses. The surrounding terrain is made of rocky slopes filled with old pine tree groups and large boulders.

A-Kruunu rental homes are built to represent a new kind of yard landscape for apartment blocks. This new yard type is based on research data and promotes the wellbeing of both nature and people. Transplantation of plants is a notable part of the construction process. Removed trees, shrubs, undergrowth and stones stored in the beginning will be replanted to the yard towards the end of construction. The roofs of the buildings will be peaceful spaces for relaxation and recreation for the residents, containing communal elements such as orchards and kitchen gardens equipped with greenhouses and planter boxes. Residents will also have planter boxes on their balconies.

Parking spaces for residents will be located under the yard structure. The shared club rooms and sauna facilities are located on the ground floor or upper floors, and about half of the roof area in the buildings is reserved for recreational use for the residents. The roofs will also be equipped with solar panels, and residents will be provided with shared cars.

The A-Kruunu rental homes are being constructed in two apartment blocks. The apartments will be 31 – 103 m2 in size, with apartment types ranging from 1 room + kitchenette + alcove to 5 rooms + kitchenette. Some of the apartments will have two floors.

The site is part of the Vihreistä vihrein Vuosaari (Greenest of the Green Vuosaari) project, which also includes joint research with the University of Helsinki.

There is no smoking allowed on the property. Smoking is prohibited inside the apartments, on the balconies or in the property’s shared spaces and outdoor areas. The rent includes a DNA broadband connection (10 Mbit/s). Water bills are calculated according to the volume used. Pets are welcome.
