Helsingin Lavakatu

Affordable rental homes are being built in two apartment blocks near Central Park in the Postipuisto wooden house blocks in Northern Pasila in Helsinki.

The wooden house block has been designed to include shared spaces and sunrooms in connection with each stair hall. Light yards that allow natural light to enter a closed block are placed between the houses in the block. The planning of the houses and the area has taken into account the promotion of communality, and the Postivarikko Village House will also be completed, which will include sports facilities, co-working spaces and event facilities.

Central Park is located right next to Postipuisto and offers opportunities to enjoy nature. Jogging and bicycle trails, ski tracks and areas for picking berries and mushrooms along with other natural experiences can be found in Central Park. Central Park is the largest park in Helsinki, stretching all the way to the city’s northern border. With its many nature reserves, it is a good representation of the rich and varied nature on Finland's southern coast.

Thanks to the close proximity of the Ilmala and Käpylä train stations, along with well-connected bus services and bicycle trails, getting around the Helsinki Metropolitan Area without a car is simple. There is also a preliminary plan to build a tramway in the area. As Postipuisto is located in the old land transport centre area, it is also easily reachable by car. Long-distance trains also stop at the nearby Pasila station.

The Lavakatu apartments will be completed in two phases. The apartments of the first phase (House B, 42 apartments) will be completed in 9/2024, the apartments of the second phase (House A, 49 apartments) will be completed in 1/2025.

The application period for the apartments in the first phase (House B, 42 apartments) is 30 April to 12 May 2024. After this, applications for the location will be received on an on-going basis.

Unfortunately we are not able to respond to enquiries about the application situation during the resident selection period.
